Francesca's Dream

I came across this sweet little film in my internet travels - thought it worth a share.
Remember that each of us has a gift to bring to this world - a gift that we can use to help make this world a better place. What are your gifts?

Franchesca's Dream from Raging Bull Productions, Inc. on Vimeo.
This is a short film shot for The Neighborhood and Parks Film Competition in San Antonio, Texas. As the filmmaker was scouting Brackenridge Park, they thought of all the sick and unfortunate children that can't go out and play like everyone else and that was the inspiration for "Franchesca's Dream."
The film was shot with a Canon 5D and T2i. The aerial footage was shot with the RB Copter.

Please remember to contribute what you can to any children's cancer research fund. Thank you.

Palace of Fine Arts Update

According to the latest reports, all three proposals from the RFCP (which placed the burden of $20,000,000 in upgrades on the potential tenant) are no longer under consideration.

Please stay in the loop on all matters pertaining to the future of the Palace by joining the facebook group : https://www.facebook.com/groups/savethepalace/

Thank you for supporting the arts!

Election Results

Thanks to everyone who took the time and a leap of faith to cast a vote in my direction. It looks as if Dennis Rodoni and Dominic Grossi are going to be in the runoff in November.
Honestly, we did better than expected, considering all the stiff competition.
Time to get back to "Plan A"
Let's get together, advocate for arts education in schools : STEM + A = STEAM
and make some music!

Marin County District 4 Supervisor Race : Vote for Common Sense Solutions, Equity and the Arts!

Do you live in Marin County, District 4? Here's a map so you can check : MAP

Please be sure to register by May 23rd to vote in the Presidential Primary, when we will all have the unique and rare opportunity to elect an artist for Marin County Supervisor : Mari "Mari Mack" Tamburo (in other words, me.) I'm voting for change and I hope you will see the value in someone with my diverse skill set in public office. Many gigs between gigs over the years have given me a chance to see things from many different perspectives. I see this as another way to "use my powers for good" - and if I am ever going to be able to self finance my music, which means complete artistic control, I need a day job. Plus, the kids in our 'hood will miss the Troll if we have to sell our house and move. We have already lost too many friends and wonderful neighbors to this Bay Area Housing crisis.

In order to make a more informed decision, we all have several more opportunities to participate in the process by attending one or more of the remaining Candidate Forums. I'm learning a lot about our local political scene - but to be completely honest, at times this experience feels like the worst part of touring without the best part (the music.) Just my observation, of course. That said, its still fun learning new things and making new friends.

Monday, May 9th, 7:00 pm in the San Rafael City Council Chambers, 1400 Fifth Street, San Rafael. Please carpool!

Thursday, May 12th, 7:00 pm : Sustainability Counts! with ALL the Candidates from District 2,3,4 and Judges candidates. San Rafael City Council Chanbers, 1400 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael, CA

May 18th, 7:00 pm : Corte Madera Candidates' Forum : District 4 Candidates
Corte Madera Community Center 498 Tamalpais Dr, Corte Madera, California 94925

May 19th, 7:00 pm : Thursday, May 19 at 7 PM - 8 PM  : Muir Woods Community Clubhouse 49 Ridge Ave, Mill Valley

Friday May 20th : Mari Mack and Friends : Songs of Hope and Change : w/ Roberta Donnay, more artists TBA : Let's gather up our creative friends at San Geronimo Valley Community Center to raise some funds for the San Geronimo Valley Arts Fund!

Saturday May 21st : 4 - 8 pm : Homestead Valley Community Center, 315 Montford Avenue, Mill Valley - this one is a potluck as well as a forum, so come early if you want to ingest some tasty homemade treats.

Thanks and keep doing what makes your heart sing - and together, we'll create a more peaceful, organic world.

ox,
Mari

Tomas D : "Echo"

I found it interesting and ironic that Tomas chose to feature yoga in his video.
That's an "inside" joke.
Grateful for people who care enough to speak truth.

Feel free to share.
