Action to Reinstate Arts & Culture Funding at Marin Community Foundation
Show your support for a vibrant arts community in Marin!
The Facts in Brief:
Marin Community Foundation, Marin's $1.6 billion philanthropic giant, has recently eliminated the entire category of "Arts & Culture" from its fundable program areas.
National standards require publicly-supported nonprofit community foundations to reflect and serve the breadth and diversity of the charitable interests in their communities.
Marin's arts and culture sector makes up 16% of the county's nonprofit community (compared with the 10% national average) and contributes enormously to county's identity, economic vitality and quality of life.
