Help prevent the forced construction of a 9,000 square foot concrete sidewalk along Evergreen Avenue which many residents state is unnecessary and unwanted, will add storm water runoff pollutants to Reed Creek and the Bay, and destroy the semi rural character of the Homestead Valley community.
This sidewalk will cover up an already existing dedicated path made of grass, which protects our watershed.
The proposed construction is being funded by a $900,000 Safe Routes to Schools grant, which was awarded to an application that contained false statements.
Many Evergreen residents would like to see some funding go toward making another street in our community, such as Reed or Montford, as pedestrian friendly as Evergreen - or go towards serving a community with a legitimate need.
Please send us an email to show your support for this effort.
